Many probably already know about this place, but I thought I'd give it a mention incase there's those that haven't. This site has a LOT of unknown artists/guitarists that have released some of their works to be downloaded and heard, and I must say, I've often been pleasantly surprised and pleased with what I've heard. Plus, if you're a struggling artist, or just want to get some of your stuff heard, this is a good way to do it. The site in general is pretty cool, the chatroom can get a little raw at times though, so I rarely visit that part. It's called Guitar.com.

I can't imagine why really, unless they are threatened by the prospect that someone's talent will be discovered that they have overlooked.
I often seek artists that aren't mainstream, mass produced, industry puppets that sing all the so called, "Now That's What I Call Manufactured Music" hits. Often, the best, most talented artists are yet to be "discovered", and probably never will be discovered because they don't have the "Marketable Image" that the Music idustry tries to hock onto unsuspecting consumers as talent. It's often more important to the industry how someone is going to look on a poster, or magazine cover than it is to have "Original" god given talent. These days, we're lucky if they don't run a string of clichés together, call it a song, make a puppet model(dressed like a giggolo, hooker or a circus act) regurgitate it into a recording, and feed it to us along with our Big Mac and a shake. Oh well, I must admit I've been pretty mesmerized by Shakira myself... what song does she sing again? }> Meanwhile, the music industry pimps us all the manufactured hits we can handle while keeping the rock star sedated with the latest designer drug of their choice, to keep their attention away from the fact that they really got "hosed" in the contract. Pretty tidy isn't it? Of course that's just my opinion... wanna sign my contract
Well said Giddyrig I wholeheartedly agree with you. I think it is pathetic the way the performers have to grab their body parts in the name of entertainment.
