Well....I don't know what MFG HD's you have and whether the Second drive was Slaved to the First. But for example. A WD drive, by itself, may have to have the jumper changed from Master ( Dual) to Master to be detected. Or Cable Select should be fine.
or....Just plug the danged thing in. It it works.....great :)
If not...check the jumpers.
