567449, Help getting to know Windows again Posted by Scotterpops, Fri Dec-27-24 03:40 AM
Hi everyone, it's been probably about ten years since I've posted, but that's only because I got frustrated with Microsoft and swore I'd never use their crap again. But life is short, so I'm back, this time with an HP laptop with Windows 11 Pro.
Getting acquainted again has been fun and challenging. I need some help.
1) I've been trying to pair my Bluetooth ear pods (a generic brand, not Apple) with no luck. When I go to Bluetooth and Add Device, it doesn't "see" them. The ear buds are on and near the laptop. What's the trick? (I promise won't complain about how any of my Apple iPads or iPhones will pair with Bluetooth ear buds lickety-split.)
2) I saw a thread below about Avira free anti virus, but they seem to have disappeared. What free, lightweight anti virus do you guys recommend? Or, is the included Windows Security anti virus software sufficient these days?
Thanks kiddies!!

Hey, I figured out the Bluetooth thing, but could still use some advice on the efficacy and reliability of the included Windows Security anti virus software.
Thanks

FWIW, I gave up on the free to nearly free apps years ago, so I can't say. I went with Eset years ago.
