35269, Question for the British members
Posted by _Chewy_, Mon Jun-09-03 12:47 AM
When we first came to america, our family used to love watching Benny Hill on the tele. Man, that guy used to get my father in stitches  - he was such a goof ball but I totally loved his humor and the rest of the old farts on his crew. It's been so long now, and i don't think they even air re-runs anymore... does anyone know what happened to him?

My favorites were the chase scenes.

I too enjoyed his show, and I am not British (well, actually most of my blood is). They ran reruns for quite some time after he died, but lately I have just seen ads selling videos of his work.

Not British, but I loved Benny. The double entendres and malapropisms were wonderful - one of the best, though it would help to see the scene, though maybe some will remember it, is when he was "hugged" by one of the Hill's Angels who asked naively, "What is this thing called love", but spoke the line as "What is this thing called, Love?" as she was squeezing his backside.

And the chase scense were great, too.

Jim.

Gee Mitch, when was that photo taken? Looks about the 1950s by his slender youthfullness.

Benny was one of my all time favorites. I loved watching the chase scenes. Benny always had such a leer, or ogling look when looking at the gals. Sort of reminds me of myself! :P }(

That sounds just like me, Derek!

Sorry I do't know when the photo was taken, but you're probably about right.
