I just got a new Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and it is a great mouse except for one really annoying thing. If i try to move the mouse too fast in one direction it sort of snaps back again. Is there any way to fix this??? It is a horrible thing to have when playing online games and stuff. Thanks for any help.

I am using the ps/2 with it. The drivers are 4.0 and i tried updating to 4.01 to get the same affect. It seems to happen when the mouse speed is very high. That is the way that i usully like it, but for now i have turned it down about four notches so that i don't get the snap back. Thanks for the reply.

I tried both my computer desk which is basically black colored wood which is a little reflective and also on my mousepad which is not at all. Same affect.

Paul this is a known problem with the Optical mouse, and there is very little you can do, you can mitigate this somehow if you go to the Mouse applet in Control Panel and in the Pointer Options tab, you increase the Pointer Speed, you can try also under Advanced in that Tab to set the pointer acceleration to High, or Medium (I think it is Low by default) or even turning this setting Off. I found a compromise in my computer with the acceleration in Medium and the Pointer Speed a little bit over half the speed, but your comfort zone could be different.

I had the exact problem. ur using it on a table or pad that is to plane for it to see anything ....or ur moving to fast for the mouse.and that was solved when i bought MS's new version with the 33% faster sticker on it..........the older ones just aren't fast enough to process a move that fast.......

Thanks for the help guys, i lowered the speed that i use the mouse at and i guess i'll have to live with it like this. I don't have the problem any more unless i try to move the mouse extremely fast now so it is ok.
