"IE6 uers -- need a favor"

Can someone with IE6 look in this reg key and report back: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open

I have this, which doesn't seem correct.
@="Open in S&ame Window"

thanks,

I am not sure what should be there, but "open in the same window" is not a good setting. That is one thing that bugs me about IE6, it will not let you view a different website in a new window. I would love to know what to put in there to allow it to load separate windows. Thanks for finding that, lets hope someone has an answer.

Thanks everyone. I have been trying to solve a minor IE6 problem, and that key looked "funny."

Marti,

That setting will add the option to "Open in Same Window" to the context menu when you right click a file with extension htm or html (and any other extension you might point at htmlfile). The ampersand in front of the "a" makes it the hotkey and underlines it.

I've got it in WinXP which has IE6.

Marti, I have the same thing as you, with the quotes...as (Default).
Maybe somewhere in IE/View/Folder Options...or something like that?
I remember seeing something about having window open in same window or a separate window...CRS...I just did a 'dirty' re-install yesterday, and that came up. Maybe in the Advanced section of IE tabs????

Lonnie

Options/General/Settings/View folders/Tools/Folder options/General tab/Browse Folders:
1. open each folder in the same window
2. open each folder in its own window

Is that what you are looking for?
