SpywareBlaster 4.0 has been released!
Prevent the installation of spyware and other potentially unwanted software!
New in this version: -Full Vista support -Protection for Netscape -Protection for Seamonkey -Protection for Flock -A brand-new user interface -Various feature and protection enhancements -Further optimizations to every part of the program -And lots of other bug fixes and requested tweaks
This 4.0 release provides enhanced protection, performance, and bug fixes.
UPDATING OPTIONS IN SPYWAREBLASTER SpywareBlaster still offers the built-in Check for Updates feature. This feature is completely free and allows you to keep up-to-date by clicking on a button in the SpywareBlaster interface.
SpywareBlaster also offers SpywareBlaster AutoUpdate - a brand-new updating solution. Just set it up, and AutoUpdate will check at every system boot for the latest updates and enable the newest protection (other options are available).
As much as we would like to provide auto-updating functionality for free, costs are simply too great to make it feasible. AutoUpdate functionality is $9.95 (US) per year, which helps to cover the bandwidth costs. The Check for Updates function remains completely free, as does SpywareBlaster. You only need to pay if you wish to have the extra convenience of AutoUpdate.

Upgrade Instructions
It is recommended that you uninstall your current version of SpywareBlaster before installing the new version. To do this:
1.) Open SpywareBlaster and press the "Disable All Protection" link under "Quick Tasks". 2.) Close SpywareBlaster. 3.) Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the entry named "SpywareBlaster v3.5.1" 4.) Download the latest SpywareBlaster installer from the link above and run it. 5.) As a general rule of thumb, if it's a case of moving up to a newer version (i.e. v2.0 to 3.0; or v3.7 to 4.0), I always uninstall the old version first. If it's just a small version update (i.e. v3.7 to v3.8), it's safe to just install over the top of the existing. There can be exceptions to this of course depending on the specific software in question, but that doesn't happen to too often.

Why do I get so excited when my favorite programs get a major update? I really must be a geek. Thanks for the heads-up. It looks good and the slow loading database for Firefox has been fixed.
I use manual update, but I selected make a donation and I did just that.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy life while you can, don't try when you can't 'cos you won't, then it will be too late.

Very cool, glad to hear it didn't go the route of SS&D and AdAware 2007, both are so much worse, meaning slow than the previous version which is a total bummer.
