"Why so many Edge listings"

I was looking at the task manager as my Lenovo WIN10 machine was booting I noticed something that has been bothering me for a long time. Looking at all the processes open there appears to be 8 or 10 listings for Edge. Why are there so many instances, is a process opened for every Favorite shown on the Edge Home page?
Also is there any detriment to having this many Edge processes open relative to the time it takes to boot. I kinda think there is a correlation between the two.

Regards,

Dan K

Edge (aka Chrome) <& current Firefox too> are multi-process, so each "part" of Edge (Chrome/Firefox) that are their own process, are shown as such.

Thanks for the explanation. I thought it was the 'remembered' tabs on the home page being preloaded.
