#2. "RE: Office Suites" In response to wtmpi (Reply # 0) Sun Jul-25-21 06:25 PM by Long Island Umpire
My answer would be the same as Mikes.... Libre Office. Been using recommending and installing that terrific free alternative to Micro$oft Office for 10 years.
Len, here's an interesting piece about Libre Office and Open Office. It states that "Most Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, switched their bundled office suite from OpenOffice.org to LibreOffice". The article also says "....In the long run, this means that big improvements to OpenOffice can be incorporated into LibreOffice, while big improvements to LibreOffice can’t be incorporated into OpenOffice. This clearly gives a big advantage to LibreOffice, which will develop quicker and incorporate more features and improvements". Check it out. Tom
Depends on where, and from whom, you get the pc. My vendor, a MS authorized dealer, on my last 2 builds, gave me 365, but it behaves like an old Original Office. If you are unsure about your builder, I suggest paying for a real install of office, with a real key code.
