"Edge Startup Boost vs.CCleaner"

Have you had problems with CCleaner scans by skipping and/or attempting to close your Edge browser while attempting to scan/clean?

If so, it's thanks to a new MS "feature" called "Startup Boost". It will (if activated), no longer allow Edge to close active Extensions when Edge is closed.

Startup Boost can be started/stopped in Edge Settings by selecting System and Performance then under System, toggling Startup Boost.

I've tried the setting both ways and don't see any difference in Edge's startup speed.

With Startup Boost on, y0u will see that the individual listings for the Extensions will remain in Task Manager's Background Processes listing after Edge is closed.

This interferes with CCleaner.

Jim.
