Not to put too fine a point on it, but the wild bird population in this country is in decline due to the carnage being wreaked on them by feral and domestic cats. The carnage is extensive and the damage they're doing to adult birds and nestlings is alarming. Why? Why should you or I care? The birds (all) kill tens of millions of pounds of flying, boring and dangerous (Termites) insects every year. The birds also do a yeoman’s duty killing crop eating bugs. We may soon see pests that have been kept under control for years by the birds, themselves explode as their natural enemies disappear.
Cat lovers: feral cats: (wild or domestic cats "gone bad") are not and should not be classified or thought of like your beloved indoor Kitty: these (feral) animals are out and out killers and should be destroyed.
