Finally, a breath of sanity that will save the lives of many law enforcement officers and citizens from lunatics. Lets hope this is the begining of a national movement.

I believe they will have a hard time getting all the weapons out of the hands of law abiding citizens who haven't done anything wrong.

It's not going to protect anyone from idiots who are hell bent on causing destruction to many people, they always find a way.

If you feel safer because of the ruling, good for you

Maybe the way would be made just a little more difficult for the idiots if you provide them with a rutted road in place of a freshly paved highway.

A good example of someone who should not own weapons.

Of course it won't. That has already been proven in Australia (and many other civilised countries).

NOT!

I don't know why this is newsworthy.

California, Florida, Illinois, New York, and South Carolina are 5 states that do not allow open carry by state law along with the District of Columbia.

I don't know why everyone has their panties in a wad over that, the idiot chose to break the law and now he's wasted the courts time. In my opinion he should have all his firearms confiscated and never be allowed to own firearms again in his lifetime and I would expect the same treatment if I broke the laws concerning firearms.

You follow the law in the state in which you live, no big deal. If you own firearms you MUST know the laws.

The idiots that follow the NRA, and Trump supporters have no reason to be pissed off.

I find it amusing you get a big kick out of it.

This country has so many laws on the books concerning firearms that are not enforced and yet many idiots are hoping to get more worthless bans and laws on the books.

Once again if you feel safer by some of the idiotic rulings and seeing high courts time wasted by cases such as this......Good for you

If a law is not enforced, that is not the fault of the law but of those who's job it is to enforce it. If the law against murder was not enforced, should that law then be deemed worthless? Should the law be abandoned, or would it be wiser of you to demand its proper enforcement.

In my opinion, if a law deters one goddamn fool from terrorizing the community by openly brandishing a firearm, it's an effective law.

And unless you're referring to the lady members here, we guys wear our shorts in a wad, not our panties. Unless, of course, you have taken to wearing ladies undergarments and so think that everyone else follows your example.

Exactly James, I have written countless letters and e-mails to members of Congress and State Representatives stating that laws on the books are negotiated away in plea bargains by scumbag lawyers who get these scum off on weapons charges.

Agreed James but the fool in Florida open carried because he thought it was his "right". Well he was wrong to do so in a state that does not allow open carry of firearms. Personally I don't agree with open carry either.

You are allowed to open carry here in Ohio without a license. I have NEVER done so because it makes people uneasy and I don't want to attract attention to myself. I'm licensed to carry concealed and do so everyday. It's not a right, it's a privilege and you need to go to a class to learn laws and demonstrate you know how to handle a firearm. The instructors (at least the ones I had) were very adamant about firearm safety and the responsibility of carrying a firearm for self defense. There was one retired Marine officer and the rest were law enforcement officers and they were very good at teaching. I know 2 people failed because they were plain old stupid about handling a firearm.

If I break the laws concerning concealed carry I risk losing my license and firearms, it's a no brainer....know and obey the laws.

No James I haven't switched sides, and I wasn't referring to anyone here in this forum, I respect you all too much for that.

It was just a figure of speech

The subject matter is cutting down on assault rifles, it wasn't about hand guns.

Not in post #9

From what I read, it was about open carry of a sidearm.

I'd like to know your definition of an "assault rifle".
