I'm afraid that, once more, I have some tragic news.
Jim McNally has passed away.
He died suddenly and unexpectedly last summer, leaving behind him his wife, Suzy, and his beloved young children, Patrick and Heather.
So far as I have been able to establish, Jim was only in his mid-thirties and he died in early August, probably just after his last post here.
This was on the 9th August and, perhaps fittingly, was paying tribute to Tuff:

Amen, Marti.
My condolences to Tuff's family and loved ones,

I really don't need to tell many of you about Jim, who was an avid fan of "Pompey" - Portsmouth Football Club.
Jim was a prolific poster here, a keen UD member and an exceptionally helpful man, well known for his both his knowledge and his kindness. Someone who with patience, tact and wit would doggedly pursue members' problems until they were solved.
For anyone who might want to in learn a little more about Jim and his family, his partially completed web site - which will now forever remain that way -includes some evocative pictures of his last holiday in Crete. It can be viewed here:

I'm personally devastated by this shocking news and, although I could go on and on about Jim McNally, I will say my own goodbye by posting this photograph of Jim, in life, enjoying himself with his son Patrick.
It was taken, I think by Suzy, on the 3rd August, 2003, at Southsea Show - close by where he lived:
Farewell Jim...........Rest in peace......Mitch
