"online screens flickering ??"

I have a Surface Pro 4 with I5 etc.

I have not changed a single setting in probably a year or more. I have not added any new apps or programs in at least a year.

Today, half the sites I click on start flickering bad enough to cause a seizure lol. Other sites work just fine.

I have scanned for malware etc. & all seemed fine.

Does anybody know this would cause this??

~John

I know nothing of "Surface"...

It is only (I guess it is) in your browser (on some websites) where the flickering occurs?

IOW, other programs that you have on this Surface do not flicker?

Are you able to test the sites that flicker in a different browser?

Does the browser have a "Safe Mode"?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_modeIf so, worth a try.

A few particular sites where you see this happening?

--------------------------------------
BANK OF AMERICA.COM ONLINE BANKING SUCKS IN THE HUGEST WAY IMAGINABLE

Newegg.com's new image gallery layout sucks in the hugest way imaginable too !
And now they're using JavaScript to "turn" pages to boot ! SUCKS

I've been too busy to mess with it until now. Microsoft Surface laptop, windows 10 with latest updates & the latest version of Chrome. Yesterday morning everything was working perfectly.

With the exact same setup today, half the websites I go to are flickering on/off to the point they are literally unuseable.

I just tried a few of the sites in MS Edge & using Edge (which I absolutely HATE) they work fine.

So do you have any third-party extensions installed in Chrome???

Three dots, More Tools, Extensions

Behind every good computer... is a jumble of wires 'n stuff.

Are you referring to Edge Chromium? It's the replacement for the original Edge. It's based on and so similar to Google Chrome it's hard for me to tell the difference.

If you're still using the original Edge, give Edge Chromium a try.

With any luck, you'll have the identical problem with Chromium that you're currently having with Chrome - but at least you probably won't hate it.

I got it working, but not the way I planned too.

I restored it to a previous restore point date figuring that was worth a try. When it got done restoring, I got an error & the damn thing refused to boot at all lol.

After a ton of try this/try that I finally bit the bullet & reinstalled windows. When I got done everything (including chrome) worked perfectly.
