W10 and Chrome, latest. I'm having a problem loading a few sites, as I get a message that I'm using an ad blocker the site would like me to stop using. The problem is, I'm NOT using ab ad blocker. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Would it be possible for you to list the URL for one or more of the websites that are giving you this message?

Also can you tell us what Extensions you have in Chrome? Click the 3 dots in the upper-right, More Tools, Extensions. You may have an extension that is causing this even though it doesn't appear to be an ad blocker.

Malwarebytes Browser Guard

Until you find a solution, simply click the text "Continue without supporting this time" at the bottom of the NBC popup, to make it disappear and not return until the next time you visit the site.

That's what I've been doing. I have contacted their help site...no help. Very annoying.

Try disabling Malwarebytes when you're on the nbcnews website.

After fiddling with Options>Privacy and Security>Content Blocking>Custom, UN-blocking both Trackers and Cookies eliminates the Popup.

To see what the result is, Close and reopen Firefox - not just reload the page.

The result is not acceptable to me - so I will continue to put up with clicking "Continue without Supporting" to get rid of the popup.


Using the "Standard Blocking" option does not block the Popup.

OK, but I'll bet even Chrome has similar settings. If so, take a look at them.

Thanks jim. I have been all over them. Aside from this minor issue, I don't get popups.
