Is there some sort of command or utility in Windows 98se to determine the processor speed of the pc? If not, is it printed on the processor chip somewhere or on the motherboard? Thank you in advance

This information was provided by someone at this forum some time ago:
1.Go to Accessories/System Tools/System Information 2.Click on Tools 3.Select Windows Report Tool 4.Click on the blue Change System File Selections towards the bottom of the window This will perform a short scan of your system files Your processor speed, memory, hard drives will then show up.
Alex,I'm on 98SE and there is no System Summary under System Info?Is there a way to add it on there,or is it different on some machines.Mine is a Pentium II.Thanks,Tuff

Thank you very much for the info. I have an AMD K-6 3D Now processor which should be 550 Mhz. However windows 98se says it is 439Mhz. Why does it show less? Thanx again

I'm not sure why it shows it much less. For pentium users, or even AMD (I recall reading this is only for pentium users, but you can try it anyway, and tell us if it works or not), try and use this program. It might not be totally accurate, but it hasn't been off by more than 6 mhz for me.
