"This is a family forum..."

Yep, this is a family forum so its not very good to see bad language posted in it, before I go any further I use it but only when / where its OK to do so.

Have you noticed that there are a lot of members who are not very
prevalient in the forum now, could the bad language have anything to do with that, I know of a few but I will not mention names, people really are offended by it

I know that there is a lot of it being posted and its removed but it should not be there in the first place.

Please show consideration to others.

Yes, bad language can be distracting. Could you post a list of the bad words so that we aren't likely to use them in the future? THose of us who are uncouth may not be aware of them as offensive

I have often wondered about this as I, on occasion, have seen profanity, sometimes from very respected contributors. I agree that it would be better without the profanity.

What do you mean he's the Doctor? Doctor Who?

I am not supporting the use of profanity but honestly when was the last time we had a post from someone under the age of majority?I doubt anyone has been scarred and it is not prevalent enough to worry about.

Actually, it's quite prevalent. See my post in Ian's identical topic in the OT lounge.

I guess it must be because it doesn't bother me that I don't really see it.Though I must admit sometimes I find it curious why someone would inject certain words into a conversation that I only use with coworkers and usually about management

Now, we all know that there are far more people registered here than participate, some of which may be "under the age of majority", whatever that is and there are likewise members are women. However, what you haven't taken into account, or at least failed to mention, is that there are doubtless far more people who visit here who have not registered. I used to recommend this board as the #1 place to get information and help to everyone, which included quite a large number of young people and women (they use computers too). But I have not done so for quite some time due to this issue. It saddens me to have had to make this decision since I do believe that PC Q&A is, in fact, the most reliable source of its kind on the Internet.

You don't recommend this site due to this issue? You mean 'naughty words'?

What kind of a vacuum bottle do you live in Man?

My job puts me in close proximity daily to people of all ages and from all social groups from the top to the bottom. It may come as a shock to you to learn that most 13 year old girls use far worse language in their normal day to day conversation with their friends than anything I've ever read on this forum.

Stick your head back in the sand and go to sleep.

This is very very true. I think after this generation they will be making many changes to the "Webster Dictionary".

I will try to clean it up because using language like that really is not necessary and if it offends anyone why do it? It won't defrag your hard drive any faster. I rather enjoy it sometimes especially when Grogan does it. It's funny to me and lightens up the atmosphere at times. I would forgive Grogan for just about anything for all his input here.
