When I load the CD Joni James "Dedicated to You" The screen shows the title as Natalie Cole "I Wish You Love" and shows the play list for that CD.As it plays the songs are the ones on the James CD but the play list continues to be the one for Cole. Can anyone give me a clue on how this can happen. PS: I do not have the Cole CD.The James CD is not a copy.

Thanks, but I do not understand your message. What comes up is titled Windows Media Player and does list the Title and play list correctly on all my other CDs.This is the only one that does this. When I put other CDs in the correct title and play list shows.I am a novice and am unable to understand your point.Even if this is MP3 why does it only do it on this one CD??

Somehow I believe an incorrect Playlist has been associated with this CD. Open WMP and select Media Library. Look through all the Folders for any references to the Natalie Cole Album or Playlist. Delete them.
Now play your Joni James CD in WMP. Select CD Audio. Now Select: "Get Names". If the Album info and Track Titles are now correct, select " Finish ". If they are not correct, select " Edit" and input the proper values. Hope this helps.
Thanks to all especially Chickenman,I looked at items in the Media Library and there are none for N Cole. The only ones are the samples that come with the player.I will try to edit per your instructions. It is not a big problem to me but I wondered and still do what caused it.If anyone ever figures it out I would appreciate hearing about it.I will try to edit tonight and if I run into problems with that I will try to contact you, Chickenman ,if you don't mind. Thanks again

Macro meant that it is not Windows Media Player that is causing the problem.
If the CD is indeed composed of MP3's then whoever made the CD probably errored when he named the songs. There are also MP3 editors that allow one to change song attributes. Or something like that, I'm not too familiar with it myself.
If it's a store bought CD, then ya got me as to the problem.
I have this same exact problem with a cd that my brother-in-law sent us. It is some kind of tree-hugger environmental elevator music with instrumentals mixed in with the sounds of wind, thunder, surf, bubbling brooks, etc. When the playlist pops up in WMP it shows as Cris Rock doing some really dirty titles. I am going to burn him a couple hours of Rush Limbaugh and title it Joan Baez (sic) or something.
