Yep Im for the Chinese. Its a tradtion in my family to have chinese food on Christmass. I will probably be going to the Chinese food place at the end of my street myself this year and have a plate at the bar along with a few beers.....
I was thinking of taking Beth out to a nice dinner for our 6 month anniversary, but that will fall on December 24th. Since that's Christmas eve, everyone will most likely be shut down. We'll probably go to our favorite Chinese buffet. The buffet isn't all that great (not bad, but not exceptional), but I love their mongolian BBQ. You fill a bowl with the ingredients (beef, chicken, pork, squid, broccoli, onions, mushrooms, pineapple, etc.) and sauce you want, hand it to the chef, and he cooks it up right in front of you. The bowls are a bit small, but it's all you can eat. (They have a great red pepper hot sauce. I once put 3 spoons of this stuff in my bowl and had to drink an entire pitcher of water per bite. I've tended to steer clear of it after that.)
Ironic that I find out this information here, n'est pas? Hmmmm . . . what if I don't want to go there? Either way I want my present that you've been teasing me about. I can't wait to see what it is.
We just went back to that Mongolian BBQ place again a few nights ago. It's not as good as we remember. The stir-fry was ok, but the all-you-can eat buffet just isn't that good anymore.
Of course, since we went there last, I've taken to making stir-fry myself. It's very easy and for some reason tastes better when you make it yourself. I can post a recipe if anyone's interested. (It's a very loosely followed recipe that basically amounts to "toss in whatever you have." )
