I'm going to be in the Okanagan for Christmas. Going to try to twist my Bros arm to upgrade to the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Do you know of any retailers in Kelowna that carry the above??

To answer your question, unfortunately I'm not aware of a particular retailer that has that card. Can't say that I've noticed one during any of my window shopping excursions.

Only suggestion I would have is to check "Staples" and "Future Shop" but it sure seems to me that they are addicted to SoundBlaster as that appears to be the dominant item on display.

I got my Santa Cruz as one of the upgrade options when I chose my PC configuration details on the Dell order form.

Still have to do some shopping so will keep an eye open and let you know if I do run across the item.

Thanks for the response. Yeah seems like Future Shop etc are commited to selling Creative junk. Looking forward to leaving "cowtown" for a while. Heard that you'd had lots of snow.

I do at times t_bare but they don't have one in the store that much I'm sure of. They don't really stock all that much in the first place and rarely higher end stuff.

Im not sure which route youll be taking into the Okanagan, but there is a pc shop in Penticton called Computer source and they may have just such a beast.

I will call them in the morning and post the result.

Penticton is only about 35 minutes from Kelowna, unless of course you drive one of them white trucks that smoke lots.

Looks like it could do the trip in about 10 minutes.

LOL, not 10 minutes but have done it in 20.

Called the store, waiting for them to call me back.

The guy was busy, so i will post back when i hear from them.

Well, he waited til the store was closed, but he did call. He doesnt carry that card and called 4 of his major suppliers: none of which had access to that model.

The word is that it may be a bit difficult to get a hold of.

There is another shop in town I called but the guy told me it would be special order, which would be very unlikely here before new years.

So, it was fruitless, but hope i helped somehow.

Probably a much better bet plus you may stand a chance at getting a better price as well as no sales tax there is there?

Compared to Calgary this is the sticks as far as shopping goes.

You're correct on the no sales tax scenario. Just hope he's into the upgrade.
