"System Up Clock"

Is there a clock that tells you how long the OS has been up & running in Win XP Pro? In Win 98SE the System Information function provided that information. I tried the Sys Info in XP Pro & it provided a lot of info, but not that.

That feature is also available in Norton SystemWorks, or Norton Utilities.

The name is now CoolMon, developed by Daisyman over at the Ars Software Colloquium.   You can find the latest version of this very trick utility here, and yes, it will tell you your uptime and a whole bunch of other info depending on how you configure the program.   It works very well and is very 'light' on resources.   Check back regularly as development continues on a daily basis.

You can read the thread in which development of this application is discussed here.   Be advised, at this writting it's up to 547 posts (fourteen pages of posts).

Thanks for the link, Scotter. Will try it out since I want to see how long Win XP Pro goes without rebooting.

That answer is easy, it will run forever unless you need to reboot for a hardware or software install.

Hope that's true Shelly, but my system gets a workout regularly by people who ALMOST know PC's, including me. Anyway, I have been unexpected surprised & pleased by the performance (clearly faster than 98 SE) and very stable (where SE required rebooting daily. I think I'll continue to keep that Microsoft stock I bought in 1989.

Thats pretty sweet! After two weeks of being up on mine, I get that itch to change stuff. That often requires a reboot! That or tinkering on the inside. Definitely couldn't do that without win2000.

No reason to change anything there, it is double P3 1000 Mhz, 384 Mb of memory, SB 5+1 with Sony MHC ZX10 220 Watts Amp GeForce 2 GTS, Windows 2000 Advanced server and it is just my main Web browser machine at home and my favorite place to race my friends in NFS 5 if they dare to try to beat me
I do the tweaking with my P4 that I hope to finish upgrading after Santa drop me on Christmas some new goodies.

If you have a network card installed, and haven't changed the settings, you can see the uptime in network properies.
