I have; OS: Win XP Pro factory installed, CPU/Ram: P4CPU 1.80GHz/512MB. Using Outlook 2002 SP-1. I do daily/weekly maintenace with Norton System Works, and haven't installed any new programs etc.
This is a new problem; where I can read, but can't delete, or transfer mail in one inbox-folder/size is 37,540 KB. I get the following popup: "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If problem persists, restart outlook" I am not using any rules, and I can delete/transfer mail in all other folders.
I've run "Detect and Repair" 2 times, and several times "Inbox repair tool". I have no "unreparable errors". I've tried "edit/delete"..."shift/delete", clicked "delete X button", even tried deleting in "advanced find" window, and all give me the same message.

Telco,
I've read both articles, and don't have the symptoms mentioned. I can create new e-mail message/and forward. The computer is new, not upgrade/reinstall etc. My .pst file is far below the 1.8-2GB size.
I've read of some problems with Office XP Update: Service Pack 2(SP2). Are you familar with my problem, and know this will resolve the delete/non-function in a folder, and not add to the current problem?

No. Just went Googling with the messaging interface has returned an unknown error error. But would have to think that SP2 would surely (hopefully) leave Outlook in a normal working state.
In any case, MS says Important Any public updates released after Office XP SP2 will require the installation of SP2, so you may as well give it a go - maybe it will correct something.
