Some of the AOL folks have told me that they have trouble the last few days when trying to sign in and that some who got in lost connection.Today was "especially bad".Do any of you know what is happening
I am having problems with AOL quitting responding when I click on a link. All of the words and buttons on the upper toolbar go blank and my cursor will turn ito the the hourglass figure. It can last for a few seconds or to the point that Crt-Alt-Delete will not work, just opens up a new window of to end this program click close. By this time I get so disgusted with hit I hit the power button on the tower. It may happen one time while I am online or it can happen multiple times during the length of time I am online. This freeze up NEVER happens when I am not online. I know it is not a memory problenm as I am maxed out on the amount of memory this computer can hold, 512mb. I have over 76 % free space on the hard drive and I clean the cookies and temp files out regularly. I do not know why it does it and AOL live help is a joke as to solving this problem. I have asked for help more than 4 times and nothing they suggest to do has helped solve it. Daylilydayzed
My wife had the same type of problems for about an hour last nite, then it cleared up. Since it was on her computer not sure what happened. Since we byoa I find that a reboot and the reconnecting solves 90% of aol problems. I know this sounds too simple but has worked for us. The more serious stuff, instead of dealing with the people at aol is an uninstall and a reinstall. If aol is how you connect or you use a ppoe then it could be different. Just my 5 year experience with part time use of aol Madc T
