I usually get blue screens when a driver is causing problems (update your drivers).....or if something in the pc is going bad (memory, motherboard, ect.) and if the power supply is too weak and i'm drawing too much juice..........also since your using WinME i would make it a habit to re-install windows every 6 months to keep it from random crap like blue screens and crashes.........infact get winxp if you can it's 10000 times more stable.......

Thank you all.
I was not clear enough on my request , so i will try to clarify things. The error messages i get each time i try to boot my computer. The reference to the two hard drives : i have two hard drives, one was and is used as a back up drive. I only use one drive at a time as master. When i install the drives in another computer everything operates fine, this leads me to believe that the information on the drives are ok. Thank you all for your help. I am sorry for the poor communication on the first post.

The computer that i am having problems with specifics are as follows: 1300 megahertz AMD Duron
KM266-8233A Main board
Bus clock 100 megahertz
Bios: Phoenix technologies LTD 6.00 PG
I have had this system for about two years all was going well until this issue.
Thanks Hookster

Hello.

You have 512 MB of RAM. I am not certain but Win ME cannot handle RAM about this size. Therefore, please try to reduce the amount of RAM you have.

I remember you can reduce RAM from within Windows instead of removing RAM sticks if you have more than one RAM stick.

You can put a phrase in the File called " System.ini " in Windows directory under <386Enh> section.

It is " MaxPhysPage=1C000 " for 448 MB of RAM.

You can visit MS Support Center and look for KB181862 for more and accurate information.

If Windows does not last long enough before error message and BSOD occurs, you can edit SYSTEM.INI file in DOS by using a Startup diskette.

Hope the above helps.

If above is not a solution, then you can revert your PC to normal by putting a semicolon before the phrase or erasing the phrase altogether.

Regards

I don't think WinME should have a problem with 512MB of memory.

Here is an OE error, but the full message is different, & it doesn't really seem to relate to your situtation. But maybe you will find a different OE error documented somewhere.

MS KB308366 "ERROR: OE" or "ERROR: OD" Error Message When You Start Windows Me or When You Use Internet Explorer

"vjoyd" would tend to indicate a joy stick. If you have one, or something similar attached, shut down, remove it, reboot, & see if that makes any difference.
