"Want my pci A Sound card back." Thu Dec-20-01 06:47 AM
Howdy. My pc came with an Ess Allergo onboard sound card a half duplex. I had a PCI Asound card installed . Subsequently i had to do a quick restore . Now i am stuck with the ESS Allergo sound card. My question is how do i get my Asound back.I find it at divice manager with the option to reinstall the drivers for it.Do i disable the ESS Allergo first and if so how? Also can i assume that the drivers for the Asound are there to reinstall?I still have the CD for the Asound. I am not sure what to do. I have Windows 98 Sec Ed. version 4.10. Thanks for any help.
Go into safe mode and delete all instances of onboard audio. On reboot, go into bios and disable onboard audio. When windows reboots, it should detect you pci audio and ask for your CD.
