" d drive"

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a computer from someone who sells reconditioned computers and it was blank NO WINDOWS was loaded onto the computer.

So to save a few bucks (since this is one for my daughter) I did not have a Windows98n installation disk just the upgrade one, But I have windows3.1 floppy setup disks. I loaded those followed all commands with no problems and went to load the 98 upgrade and the error came up d drive not recognized. I know it recognized it before I loaded 3.1 that's when I realized it was an upgrade not installation disk.
How can I find my d drive?
PLease help me!!!!
I am not a computer person at all so make it as simple as you can!!!!!
Thanks to all:)
