Burning with Nero, it wants to make Image files instead of burning and then the CD reads CDR00007.GHO and then a second click on the file brings this message

"Ghost span extent file-Please load the base ghost image file"

any idea what this means and why I'm not going on to burn the CD? I had to load in the old adaptec software to make the CD...Which it did and took 30 minutes to burn less than 600 mbytes....Burn was okey but not up to the Nero speed.....

go to choose recorder and tell it to use the CD, not the "image recorder"...c if that works

I know that's got to be some sort of Ghost archive thing???

Also Nero burns a hellofalot faster than Adaptec. About 10 minutes for nearly 650 mbytes...uh, that is, after I fixed the burn preferences.......

you were probably attempting to burn a ghost file on accident or something...

A .GHO file is the first file you get when ghosting an image of a partition or disk, they are usually 1.99GB. WHen you are using the "-span=" parameter on the Ghost floppy disc, you get an initial .GHO file, then each succeeding spanned file is a .GHS file, they are consecutively numbered if you have the autoname option checked, it probably uses the DOS 8+3 naming system. That is just a guess.
If I click on a .GHS file, I get the "Open With" box, choosing ghostpe.exe gives you an error about Ghost not running on NT or the like.

How you got Ghost and Nero intertwined is nothing I have seen before, it is curious.

As proved over and over, some things only I can do...The price of being wonderful, I guess. The CD I picked up had a undocumented .GHO file on it from an earlier adventure...
As others here can tell you, I have the uncanny ability to confuse myself at least once any day of the week.....And you did answer my question with info that I needed....thanks

Don't you think that's one of the best things about getting older? We can't remember what we thought we knew, so we just keep on trying to learn anyway!

It's actually a lot of fun. Forget something and learn two new things in it's place. Yeh, that's the ticket!

Well, yes, that's a very true statement..When I was 21 or so I already knew all there was to know and it was only in the years following that I got dumber and dumber and now I don't hardly know nuthin'.
Seriously though, there's a young fellow at work in the electrical dept. that scares me a lot. He's been going to one of the electronics trade schools, about three years along now, and is quite brilliant!! He has been teaching ME stuff now and I have to admit, the guy is smart.....

Wish they had schools when you and I were young.Just think how far we could have gone
