I have two PCs running Win XP SP2 and networked with ICS. I have Zone Alarm running on the host machine, and everything works fine, except that to enable the client machine to access the Internet, in Zone Alarm on the host machine I have to enable Internet server access for "Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services". Is this safe (ZA pops up a warning and recommends against it), and if not, then how do I enable the client machine to access the Internet?

Yes, it is ok to allow 'Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services' aka (/windows/system32)/svchost.exe.

You can safely allow 'Access' to both Trusted & Internet.
'Server' to Trusted only.

Strange, works for me that way, & I believe that is the way it is described on the Zonelabs website.

I don't think you should have a problem with having Internet Server enabled if you need it that way to run.
