"Xp Questions"

Is there any Scandisk in WinXP. Had a hard shutdown.

Is there any way to judge System Resources like in Win98 as a percentage?

Can I get rid of the System Config popup that comes evertime I reboot telling me I have added a startup item?

Thanks in advance

That is now back to the old chkdsk with a /f for fix. Go to Start>Help and Support, then scan for chkdsk to see all options. Use the Help and Support for most questions, it's not the same as old Help, It actually works.

There is no longer the same need to monitor you resources as you did in 9X. Currently I have 38 processes running (haven't the foggiest what some of them are) and no problem at all with Resources.

You are using a Selective Startup, from Msconfig, and should have a checkmark on that popup to say not to display the next boot. I would go to Msconfig and choose Normal Startup and use Startup Cop to control those that you don't want to use on boot.

If you want to see what kind of resources you are using, hit ctrl alt del once, and then click processes. If you minimize this windows it will give you a a bar graph in the lower corner.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete does not work in XP instead you have to use Ctrl+Shift+Esc

Purush,

Where are you getting your information? Ctrl-alt-delete works just fine...

That shows CPU usage, not resources.
