A couple of guys here swear by the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. It's on sale now, $20.00 off for $79.95.

Do a Google search for a review. Type in "Yamaha XG reviews" and see what comes up.

I have nothing terrible against my yamaha, it's a good card, nothing special, there are dos games that need a soundblaster compatibility that the yamaha does not appear to have. They make some very nice high end cards for recording and mixing, this is not it. As Al said stick with what you've got.
