My friend just bought a new Sony computer. Problem is when you click on IE it brings up a window that wants him to subscribe to MSN wizzard. There is no way there to cancell this. You can exit but when you click on blue E it comes up again with this wizzard. I went into internet options/connection and there is nothing in there at all and it is set to never dial a connection. How would I get this just to load IE's homepage and not that MSN Thing?? Could this be that they have the homepage set to do this?? Didn't think to change that till after I left? Also this is not the windows connection wizzard. Thanks all

I think if you look at the first screen that comes up you will find a choice to use current Internet provider. This will continue to run in this manner until the wizard is run to sign up on MSN or setup using current provider. At least it is not downloading like AOL paid for icon will.

Exactly - that's what you get with a fresh install, and you just have to go through the little wizard hoops to get rid of it. It's just a fishing net that MS sets, and only the strong make it through without getting caught

But "It's just a fishing net that MS sets", it is NOT just MS now with the new rules for XP. Any vender can pay the OEM to do this with their products and it will not be just he browsers.
