My neighbor is a school teacher and during this COVID time has been working at home. I just installed a Moxee hot spot modem so he could upload and download school work at a faster speed. He had been connected using DSL at 3 MB. He is keeping the DSL for his Netflix and email so as to limit the data traffic on the hotspot. To make sure his school pc is not connected to the DSL, I changed the hotspot IP to 192.168.2.X and kept the DSL at 192.168.1.X. When he returns to the school building, he might have to change his PC back to 192.168.1.X to log onto the school.
BTW, his wife is also a teacher in another school, and I changed her HP laptop also. Well I shouldn't say I changed it, after completing the forced IP change on his Dell and went to the HP, it had already picked up the new network. Don't know why this picked up the new IP but it did. All PC's, ipads, smart TV's and Smart DVD's are connected to their respective networks and working fine.
Now to the question, how can he easily switch between the two networks when they both go between school and home? I'm thinking of some kind of a desktop short cut that runs a small app to change the network configuration.
I may be asking to much but it's a thought. Regards,
