"Praise for UMAX tech support"

When I went to a computer with WinXP home the Umax 3450 scanner which worked great with Win 98se.would do ordinary scans but would not scan my color transparancies or negatives.I down loaded the so called XP drivers and things were no better and maybe a little bit worse. After a few E mail sessions with their Tech support and no success, the tech asked me to set up a time convenient to me so they could try walking through the problem with me.
They called me (on THEIR dime!)and spent 20 minutes walking me through various possible fixes until they had it working as well as ever.
My previous experience with another tech scanner company consisted of an hour of voice mails etc(on MY dime)and finally talking to a guy who seemed to be almost as unimformed as I.
Umax helped and seemed pleased to do it.Just like PC91

Always good to hear a positive tech support resolution. I had a nice one a few days ago. Found out my Athlon XP 1700+ and Soyo Dragon were still under warranty, emailed Mwave, tech emailed me back in 10 minutes with a few basic questions, I answered them, he said to email customer support. I briefly explained the problem to them, and got a reply back with RMA numbers for both items. All told, spend $0 and it took about 1 hour. Damn good service if you ask me
