"Juke box."

I believe this was here a long time ago but in any event it is still a good one.
Jukebox, It's good !

This a Jukebox; but it is no ordinary jukebox. It will play all of your
favorite songs from 1952 through 1982. Each year has a
scroll or drop down box that shows all the great songs for that year. Most
years have over 40 songs. There is even a section at the bottom that allows

you to listen to show tunes, TV show themes, Doo Wop and several others.
This is pretty neat....and it is free. Read the rest of this and then click

on the site at the bottom.

Once you click on a song it will play and when it finishes it automatically
plays the next song in the list and continues until it has played all the
songs. This is really cool!!!

It has a volume control which you should use in conjunction with your
computers volume control.

One of the best features is that it will play in the background. That means
you can be doing other computer work on a different screen.

Pick and play any popular song from 1952 through 1982 or go to the specialty

areas. You can't miss them. They are listed in very bright colors. That
is for older eyes!!!

Great site, but...

There are about 160 songs in Folk Music. Nearly 100 of them are John Denver. Oh, please.........

Nevertheless - great site, thanks.

I agree. I take John Denver in small doses. I've heard "Thank God, I'm a Country Boy" so many times I could puke.

I can't take much of him under any circumstances. But calling him a folk singer is really too much.

What do you guys listen to? I'm talking 40-70 year olds. I've met about 10 Aussies but could never could get an answer about music they liked.

I listen to everything. Rock (I'm a guitar freak, Clapton, Knopfler, Jimmy Page, SRV etc etc), Folk (British, Celtic, American), Newgrass (US has some amazing instrumentalists there, pity about most of the vocals), Acoustic Guitar (contemporary and classical), Jazz (Trad and modern - Dad ran a jazz radio show years ago), Classical. I don't like Rap/HipHop and I don't like Country, and that's about all.

I have 400+ vinyls which I'm converting to mp3, and about 300+ CDs.

Overall, I think you'd find pretty much the same spread of musical taste in Australia as in the US.

By reading their forum I've just discovered the "Genre" section on the right, it has even more sections within it.
