Could be the shock tower mounts or the shocks. It may be temperature related in that after you drive it, you've heated something that may have expanded (rubber bushings?)

Can't you try to simulate it by opening the hood & pushing down hard on a fender to activate the sound. Since you're right there you may be able to isolate where the sound is coming from (i.e. on top of the shock or below it).

You need to do some sleuthing. Good luck.

BTW, Z3's are notorious for rear shock mounts failing!

BOTH SHOCKS ARE NEW.....ONLY ONE SHOCK TOWER WAS CHANGED TO STOP THE SAME NOISE ON THE RIGHT SIDE..
SEEMS THE LEFT SIDE MAY NEED WORK ALSO

YES THATS WHAT WE ASSUME ALSO....

I TRYED AS DID MY BROTHER BUT THE STRUTS ARE SO STIFF AND NEW, ITS HARD TO MOVE IT...

That's what he suspects also.....after it warms up the bushings may expand lessening the noise, ill have my mechanic check it and i'll at least have a clue as to what it could be

thanks alot.....

Grease the bushings! That's worth a try. Of course, it's a heck of a lot easier to do that before they're installed.

If you just had the shocks replaced, your mechanic may not have done that, although getting new ones in without doing that would be very difficult. If they're the old bushings, grease rather than replace, unless they're seriously damaged.

Make sure the lubricant is compatible with the bushings. Notice I said lubricant and not grease. There is a difference. Using incompatible lubricants can degrade the material used to make the bushings.

Are the squeaks and rattles constant or only when going over a bump? Does increasing or decreasing speed have any effect. Is the noise more noticeable when braking or accelerating? Standard or auto transmission?
Does revving the engine have any effect?

I'd guess the shocks also. Kind of an interesting problem, let us know what you find.

UPDATE........Today we found out it was the one part i did not do....the left shock TOWER.The rubber inside was pushed off center and metal to metal was rubbing....when the rubber got warm from driving and it most likely expanded some and quieted it down after a while according to the mechanics....
tested it out today and all's well.....

Did you have all the front and rear suspension work and brake work done that you recently posted about?
