Recently after installing Windows updates, my game of Backgammon, gnubg, locks up in each of my OSs i.e. Win XP Pro, Win 7, Win 8 with the following message:

I have no idea what has changed, but the game worked perfectly up to the time of the updates. The game starts and after selecting "New Game" from the menu it locks up and has to be exited by using Task Manager.
