"Modify stroke victims car?"

I have a friend who is recovering from a stroke. He is looking for a source of modifying his car to make it possible to drive again. Two modifications that would greatly assist him would be moving the turn signal lever to the right side of the steering wheel and making the drivers seat swivel to assist exiting the vehicle.I have searched but have found mostly van lifts etc.Does anyone know a site or imfo for the modificatios I have mentioned. He is in San Jose,Ca.Any help would be greatly appreciated

See this site, bottom of page for turn signal.

As for the rotating seat, check with Camping World, or equivalent. My son in law put one in his motor home, as an extra seat in the back.

If your friend is of working age and employed or actively looking for work, the state Bureau (or Division) of Vocational Rehabilitation can fund the needed automotive modifications as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to return your friend to employment. Eligibility requirements vary from state to state but this is a federally funded program available in all states, with offices in most cities and some rural areas.

If your friend is not employed or looking for work, check with your state agency anyway. Some states have Home Maker programs that will assist with some expenses in order to aid an individual maintain their independence.
